Nissan Resonance Concept to Debut at NAIAS in Detroit
Detroits NAIAS will be the scene of Nissans newest concept vehicle, the Resonance. Outside the automakers inner circle, very little is known about the car, except for the ultra-futuristic rendering that came across the Nissan corporate newswire just this week. Tuesday, Jan. 15, will be the day that Resonance first resonates with the media, who are eager to see the Japanese automakers latest take on hybrid-electric design. A Nissan spokesperson provided the cryptic statement that Resonance is, the latest in a series of envelope-pushing crossover designs. Fiat 500e Shows Off New Range Numbers
The EPA has given the new Fiat 500e electric car a combined 116 mpg-e fuel efficiency rating, which places the newest EV above all other U.S. electric cars but two. With 25 dealerships in California, Fiat plans to begin selling the 500e in that state sometime after March. A specific breakout of the EPA data shows the 500e achieving 108 mpg-e in city driving and 122 mpg-e on the highway. For the complete story, see:

Toyota Prius and Chevy Volt Battle for Top in UK
Toyota has announced that its plug-in Prius Hybrid was the best-selling plug-in in the U.K. for the year 2012, beating local favorite Vauxhall Ampera, the Euro version of GMs Chevy Volt, in total sales for the calendar year. The companys entire slate of hybrids, both plug-in and traditional, chalked up 12,840 sales in the U.K. during the past year, with the 76 mpg Auris the newest member of the lineup.
