The Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. received notice from Noridian Administrative Services, LLC and National Government Services, Inc. approving the addition of ACHC accreditation in their local coverage determination (LCD) for Polysomnography and Sleep Studies. The LCD requires each sleep laboratory or sleep testing facility in the Carriers jurisdiction to have a physician director who meets certain qualifications including employment by an accredited sleep lab or sleep testing facility, which now is revised to include ACHC.
Noridian Administrative Services, LLC (NAS), Jurisdiction F (AL, AZ, ID, MT, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA, WY) has revised the LCD policy (L24350) to recognize ACHC as an approved accrediting body for sleep labs with an effective date of February 27, 2012 and will be visible on the Medicare Coverage Database on Thursday, June 14, 2012.
National Government Services, Inc., Jurisdiction 13 (NY, CT) and the state of Indiana has revised their LCD policy (L26428) to include ACHC with an effective date of July 1, 2012 and will be viewable in the Medicare Coverage Database on Thursday, June 28, 2012.
