Becker’s Hospital Review has published its annual list of the 50 top grossing hospitals in the United States, which includes organizations with annual revenue ranging from $ 3 to $ 10 billion.
This list includes short-term acute-care hospitals, critical access hospitals and children’s hospitals. It is compiled based on gross revenue according to CMS cost report data that is analyzed by the American Hospital Directory.
The hospital total patient revenues are reported to CMS by the hospitals in their most recent cost reports and, in some cases, may include patient revenue from other facilities that share a provider number with the main hospital.
