Katies Cards, the premium ecard company, have released a new Valentines Day ecard just in time for February 14th.
The new ecard, entitled Liquid Love has been created using a warm palette of red and pink hues and pastel shades of turquoise and purple, displaying an abstract, organic theme. Calming chillout music serenades soft bubbles of texture as they swirl around the screen before coming together to form a bright, pulsating heart.
The style of the illustration and animation is quite different from many of the other ecards on the Katies Cards website: instead of the block colours and cartoon design of many of their popular ecards, such as the Turkey Escape series, the images in this ecard are composed of a patchwork of subtle hues and soft shapes.
Katies Cards CEO Katie Davies has explained that this new ecard signals a change in the creative direction for the company:
Due to feedback from our customers, we have realised that we need to create more artistic, atmospheric and generic ecards. Whilst our humorous cartoons epitomise our style for many people, and are incredibly popular, we want to ensure that we cater for a wide range of tastes and offer an eclectic choice.
The ecard joins a varied collection of Valentines Day ecards, ranging from the more traditional sentiments of love, to humorous illustrations and animation. The family-friendly cards are not only suitable for partners to send to each other, but also for parents to send to their children, or simply for people to send to their friends.
In addition to the selection for Valentines Day, the site boasts over two hundred and fifty unique ecard designs in thirty six categories. This diverse collection not only includes Christmas and birthday ecards but also offers a range of ecards for a variety of cultural celebrations and important events. This includes a diverse range of Chinese New Year, Diwali and Hanukkah ecards. The website can also be used to send electronic, eco-friendly save the date cards for a wedding, thank you cards, and invitation cards for a party or event. The interactive ecard games are also among the most popular cards sent through the site. As Katie Davies has indicated, the company hopes to build on this collection in the coming months and expects to unveil multiple new ecard designs which pursue this exciting new creative direction.
Katies Cards is a small, family-run, ecard company based in Teddington, Middlesex. The ecards on the website are exclusively available to members of the Katies Cards website who can send unlimited ecards for the duration of their subscription.
