Cadillac to Show ELR EV at Detroits NAIAS Next Month
General Motors has confirmed that the hybrid-electric Cadillac ELR will make its official debut as a production car at next months Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). The ELR will be built alongside the Chevy Volt at the companys Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit. At first, production volume will likely be low as GM tests the market and gears up specific dealerships to offer the car. ELR is a four-seat, two-door. Sporting a lithium-ion battery pack and a four-cylinder gasoline engine, the ELRs exact price has not been revealed, nor has its all-electric range. For the complete story, see:

Chevy Volt Hits Electric Mileage Milestone
In the month of December, the total electric distance driven by Chevy Volt owners reached 100 million miles. According to official company data, the cars average owner uses all-electric mode approximately 65 percent of the time. Because most owners only buy gasoline for long-range driving, the typical Volt owner only has to fill up once every six weeks, on average. Tesla Motors to Open Tilburg, Netherlands Facility
Tesla Motors formally announced this week that the company would start operations in its new Tilburg, Netherlands, distribution center. For the European geographic market, this facility will be Teslas parts and service headquarters. All Model S sedans purchased in Europe will get their endpoint assembly at the 62,000-square-foot Tilburg plant. In addition, Teslas Netherlands branch will be the central distribution outlet for all of Europe. In the first quarter of next year, the automaker will produce and sell a left-hand-drive Model S sedan for the European market. For the complete story, see:
