El Dorado County, CA (PRWEB) September 19, 2012
The El Dorado Irrigation District has launched a new website to better serve its customers, stakeholders, and other interested parties in El Dorado County, California.
This launch is a welcomed achievement for everyone involved with the District as information and online services are more accessible and easier to update than ever before.
We have not had a major revision to our website since 2006 and since that time, technology has changed considerably, explained Communications and Community Relations Director Mary Lynn Carlton.
Our site now runs on a robust content management system that provides us with powerful tools to keep the community informed. Vision Internet was the ideal company to assist us in our project as they have unique experience in developing public sector websites, which made this process much easier for us.
This robust content management system the Vision CMS was provided by Vision Internet, a Santa Monica-based website development company with leading expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of successful government websites.
To those familiar with the previous website, the improvements seen with this launch are obvious. The clean, upscale design and revamped navigational structure are both eye-catching and easy-to-use.
A number of modern eGov features have been introduced to the site including a document library, job postings, a searchable open bid directory, online bills, and project updates.
A popular feature of the new site is eNews, noted Carlton. Customers and other interested parties will be able to get alerts when news releases, job postings, calendared events, or business opportunities are posted to the site. Visitors can click on eNews Sign Up from the front page to subscribe to the content of most interest to them.
The advanced tools of the CMS have reinvigorated the Districts commitment to providing timely information and helpful services to their customers and other interested parties.
