London (PRWEB UK) 9 October 2012
The Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne this week announced a review of tax arrangements to stimulate development in the emerging shale gas industry. Further benefits include creation of new jobs and cost-reduction in domestically-produced energy.
However, concerns over the environmental impacts of shale gas extraction remain with campaigners pointing to recent cases of groundwater pollution and minor earth tremors as arguments against utilising this abundant source of energy.
