ACHC is pleased to announce that Senior Home Care, based in Clearwater FL, is the first home health organization to achieve corporate accreditation for Behavioral Health Home Care (BHHC). Released in August 2011 as a unique specialty accreditation, Behavioral Health Home Care integrates behavioral health interventions into home care services for patients whose mental illness, substance abuse, intellectual/developmental disabilities prevent them from receiving care outside of their homes. Services are provided by a psychiatric nurse and other home care personnel, as ordered by a physician.
