Volunteers of America, a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need live healthy, safe and productive lives, has launched a mobile Web site in an effort to bring optimized content, mobile donations and other engagement options to its mobile visitors.
Mobile visitors can now easily make donations through secure Convio donation forms. They can also learn more about Volunteers of Americas many programs, including housing and services for veterans, seniors, low-income families and children, and many others. Mobile visitors can also find a local affiliate near them through a geo-location map or by doing a ZIP code search. Additionally, Volunteers of America has made it easy for visitors to sign up for the organizations e-newsletter and to connect via a range of social media options, including Facebook and Twitter.
In our world todaywhere almost everyone has a cell phonewe believe it is imperative to have a mobile presence, since our constituents expect that, said Elizabeth Mace, Volunteers of Americas Director of Online and Social Media Strategy. Mace explains that mobile is a key part of Volunteers of Americas multi-channel strategy. We do not want to miss any brand name recognition opportunities, donations or e-news sign-ups from people who would prefer to browse our site, give or interact with us using their phone.
Already, Volunteers of America has realized a significant increase in sign-ups for its e-newsletter, reaching more than 200 new subscribers through its mobile site this summer. Volunteers of America has also incorporated their social media efforts into the mobile site. We see our mobile site as one tool in our marketing toolbox. Our other tools, like our desktop site, direct mail, print publications and social media, also help us reach our audience and spread our message, said Mace.
A mobile site can bring business and marketing tools together in one place. UR Mobile helps nonprofits leverage major business tools, such as Convios donation software, as well as crucial marketing tools, such as social media, geo-mapping and multimedia, said Tarpley McColl, CEO, UR Mobile. Were proud to work with Volunteers of America in the mobile space a space that is critical to the survival of nonprofit organizations going forward.
In addition to facilitating the creation and management of Volunteers of Americas mobile site, including integration with Convios Luminate online donation software, UR Mobile has previously worked with other large nonprofits on mobile optimization and Convio integrations, including National MS and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
