A growing number of insurance agents are taking advantage of a new, limited time ‘in-store’ insurance consultation platform inside pharmacies across America a program that allows 7,500 contracted SmartD Rx agents to market this novel product, many within your circulation/broadcast area.
Without proper certification, insurance agents cannot market insurance products inside commercial properties such as a pharmacy, hospital or even a nursing home. But SmartD Rx – the product of an alliance between AmeriLife, the nations largest life and health insurance marketing group, and Smart Insurance Company – creates an insurance consultation and selling platform that allows certified agents to offer Medicare Part D Prescription Plans to customers shopping in a retail pharmacy setting.
SmartD Rx is a CMS-authorized Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) developed with the input of pharmacists, and is offered to beneficiaries for the first time this fall during Medicares open enrollment period. It is available through a first-of-its-kind pharmacy alliance with RxAlly, one of the largest Preferred Networks, to help seniors maintain a trusted, personalized relationship with their community pharmacist and lower their prescription costs.
More than 20,000 RxAlly member pharmacies – including participating independent pharmacies, regional chains and Walgreens – will begin accepting SmartD Rx on January 1, 2013. It will be offered in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Weve been gratified by the registration and certification of insurance agents from coast-to-coast, said AmeriLife CEO and President Timothy O. North. The growing number of participating agents, and the expanding number of receptive beneficiaries, indicate the SmartD program is one whose time has come.
Medicares 42 million beneficiaries have the option to obtain Part D drug benefits by purchasing insurance policies from private stand-alone drug plans. The SmartD Rx plan gives Medicare beneficiaries immediate access to certified insurance agents who may provide them Part D plans in their pharmacy.
SmartD Rx may be the largest in-store agent program ever created. Only certified agents are eligible to establish an in-store presence in 20,000 pharmacies nationwide, including participating Walgreens pharmacies.
We are excited to launch this innovative consultative approach with AmeriLife, said Pritpal Virdee, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Insurance Company. These certified plan representatives will be available to help consumers navigate the nuances of Medicare Part D and provide on-the-spot answers to questions that may arise about Medicares prescription drug plans.
